Summary

ICI Chemicals and Polymers operate a major chemicals complex at Thornton in Lancashire. Steam and power for the various process operations on site was supplied from a central power station - the Thornton Power Station. KPS have used Knowledge Discovery methods (data mining) to improve understanding of the performance of the power station and to identify measures to reduce operating costs.
