On-line monitoring of power station performance

KPS announces the release of a new on-line application for monitoring power station performance that has been developed as a result of working with major generating companies in the UK.

The application monitors a wide range of measurements and key performance indicators from each generating unit at a power station and automatically highlights whether each unit is operating in its best practice operating region such as minimum emissions, maximum efficiency or maximum power output.

The application is particularly suited to coal fired power stations and allows the user to rapidly trouble shoot unit performance issues and identify the underlying causes of poor operation.

It is expected the monitoring application will be of particular interest to those generators seeking to minimise emissions as a result of the LCPD and also those seeking to maximise unit power output in the current operating environment.
